The Parish Pastoral Council was formed in 2005.
The current members of the Parish Pastoral Council are as follows:

Parish Pastoral Council Meeting October 2011

  • On 26th November – a special Mass will be celebrated for all lost at sea.  Suggestions for further commemoration will be invited at this Mass.
  • Most Parish Groups are represented on the updated Parish Website.
  • During November – the Faith Development Group are hosting four different talks in St. Columbanus Hall. Times and dates will be published in the parish newsletter and on the parish Web site.
  • On 8th November – a general meeting will take place in the Regency Hotel Drumcondra to discuss Deanery finances. Thirty nine parishes will be represented. All are welcome to attend.
  • From 26th November until 8th December, Groups of 18 to 35year olds from the Emmanuel Community in Rome will be visiting Dublin to communicate and reach out to people such as youth clubs and other similar groups about the church. Families are invited to host the visitors.   
  • On 4th December – a Carol Service for the parishes of Howth Sutton Baldoyle and Bayside will be hosted in Bayside Church.   
  • From 10th – 16th June 2012 the Eucharistic Congress will take place.  The theme is “Communion with Christ and with One Another.” The week long events will take place in the RDS  culminating with a mass in Croke Park on Sunday the 17th June. HOWTH PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL NEWS - 2011/05

The PPC continues to meet on a monthly basis and is currently preparing an evening on SUICIDE AWARENESS – A COMMUNITY RESPONSE.

This event will take place on Monday night 21st March 2011 at 8p.m. in St. Columbanus Hall.  Speakers will address the issues of:

 

  • Prevention;
  • Bereavement;
  • Sources and Resources;
  • Impact on the immediate family/friends circle of the deceased
    • as well as those affected in the wider community   

 

All are welcome.

The PPC members will also be attending a meeting in Holy Cross College Clonliffe on Tuesday 29th March.  This meeting is the first of three and will address the issue of the Church today.  The first meeting is entitled:  ‘What is Church’ and will be addressed by Fr. Michael Drumm.

 

Music.

Mr Joe Cosgrave of Bayside Parish Pastoral Council is organising a ‘music event’ later in the year.  He hopes to involve choirs and music lovers from the four ‘cluster’ parishes of Howth, Sutton, Baldoyle and Bayside.
