Advent 2015

Advent 2015 and the Family Mass

Sunday, 29th November, is the first Sunday of Advent and we begin a new Church year!  This year we have a large Advent calendar on our noticeboard and behind each “door” is a picture of part of the nativity scene. The children of the parish have coloured in these pictures. Drop into the Church during Advent as we open a “door” each day.

Everyone is invited to add their name to the Advent Board as we all wait and prepare for Christmas.

The four Sunday’s of Advent also have lots of extra duties and roles for families during the Mass and we invite everyone to get involved.  We will be lighting the Advent wreath each week and carrying the Advent theme (Hope, Peace, Joy and Love) in the Entrance Procession. All the usual roles of reading, Gospel procession, Offertory Procession, signing the Our Father and singing are waiting for volunteers.  Please put your name on our sign-up sheet on the Family Mass Notice Board or contact Ann Campbell 086-8183709, Lisa O’Neill 087-2359254 or Mary Clavin 086-6023313.
