CHURCH MARY GARDEN TO BE BLESSED THIS SUNDAY

This Sunday morning after 10:30 am Mass, there will be a short ceremony of blessing of our Mary Garden that lies each side of the main steps to the Church that together form the shape of a heart. It was St. Fiacre (from Co. Kilkenny) who first dedicated a garden to Our Lady.  Later his idea spread and many plants and flowers were 'christened' by being given names that reflected Our Lady (Rosemary is an example) and also Our Lord and St. Joseph.  A Mary garden is one whose planting is of such species.  It reminds us of Our Lady's part in our salvation.  Further information is available on a leaflet in the Church.  A year on since it was planted, our Mary garden is being blessed in this her special month of May.  You are warmly invited to come and join in.
