Christ the King & the Thirty-Fourth and last Sunday in Ordinary Time  (46/15)

“On behalf of my brothers and sisters, I would like to say a very sincere ‘Thank you’ to you all for your beautiful card, photographs and all your kind words, thoughts and good wishes in the lovely presentation Fr. Brendan Houlihan received.  You have all been such an inspiration and wonderful support to him over the last twenty seven years.  I know he has been a great priest in his ministry for you all, in happy and sad times.  He has such fond memories of all your kindness and your thoughtfulness to him.  It would be impossible to thank you all individually.  I know that Brendan thinks of you all every day and will keep you in his prayers always.  I would ask you also to keep him in your prayers.  Our very sincere thank you, to all who have touched Brendan’s life in so many ways”. Yours very sincerely,    Therese Flanagan

Mary, Gerry, Michael, Bernadette and Therese

In preparation for CHRISTMAS, we will have the usual  ‘Clean-up’ of our beautiful church.  Please join us on Saturday 5th December between 9.00 and 10.00am or 10.30am to 12.30pm.   Contact Barbara, Parish Office Tel. 01-839 7398.

Several parishioners have volunteered to be members of a Parish Funeral Team - a sensitive ministry which assists families at the time of a bereavement.  If you feel you might be suited to this and might like to join the team, you can contact Fr Gerry Tanham (Tel. 01-816 7599) or the Parish Office to learn more about it (Tel. 01-839 7398)

Next Sunday, 29th November, is the First Sunday of Advent and we begin a new Church year.  This year we will have a large Advent calendar on our noticeboard and behind each “door” will be a picture of part of the nativity scene.  The children are invited to colour in those pictures this weekend.  Then during Advent we will open a “door” each day and we invite the children to come and visit the church to see if their picture is on display yet.  Children and adults are invited to add their name to the Advent Board as we all wait and prepare for Christmas.  There will also be Advent material on the parish website,

The four Sunday’s of Advent have lots of extra duties and roles for families during the Mass and we invite everyone to get involved.  We will be lighting the Advent wreath each week and carrying the Advent theme (Hope, Peace, Joy and Love) in the Entrance Procession.  All the usual roles of reading, Gospel procession, Offertory Procession, signing the Our Father and singing are waiting for volunteers.  Please put your name on our sign-up sheet on the Family Mass Notice Board or contact Ann Campbell 086-8183709, Lisa O’Neill 087-2359254 or Mary Clavin 086-6023313.
