Fifth Sunday of Lent (14/14)
SUNDAYS
IN LENT
There will be Exposition of the Blessed
Sacrament this afternoon, (Sunday) from 4.00 to 5.00 p.m. Sung Evening Prayer and Benediction will
follow at 5 o’clock. All welcome.
THE WORD OF GOD AT EASTER
Tomorrow, Monday 7th
April, Colette Furlong, currently
Catechist in Sligo Diocese will facilitate a session with the above title for
the Ministers of the Word and interested parishioners in this and the cluster
parishes. As Holy Week and the Easter
season is almost here it is a good opportunity to explore the many and
sometimes complex readings which we read and hear around that time in the
company of an expert. The session will
be interactive with plenty of opportunity for questions and a break for a
“cuppa”. So please join us tomorrow
evening, Monday 7th April from 7.30pm to 9.00 p.m. in the Church of
the Assumption.
GOOD FRIDAY
STATIONS OF THE CROSS
Rehearsals
continue for the presentation of the Stations of the Cross in the Church on
Good Friday in costume, mime and music.
Please consider taking part in this event, which is always a most
rewarding experience. If you are in any
way interested in Drama or Mime or in giving a hand on the night, please come
to the church on Wednesday 9th April at 7.30pm.

- A Way Forward for the Church in
Ireland?

DIOCESAN CONFESSION INITIATIVE
“The Light over the confessional is still on
for you.”
Pope Francis has been consistently encouraging
people to return to the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the initiative “The
Light is still on for you” is one response.
The aim of the initiative is to reach out to people who would not
normally come to Church and to offer an opportunity for people to take ample
time in confession to reflect on their lives.
As Lent comes to a conclusion, a number of Centre City Churches will
provide Confessions on Saturday 12th April and Saturday 19th
April from 9.30am to 6.00pm. There will
be a number of confessors available throughout the day. The centre city churches are: 1.Saint Mary’s,
Pro-Cathedral, 2.Saint Saviour's, Dominick Street, 3.Saint Andrew’s, Westland
Row, 4.Saint Francis Xavier, Gardiner Street, 5.Saint Teresa’s, Clarendon
