Twenty Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time  DAY FOR LIFE (39/15)


T0-day is Day for Life which is celebrated annually by the Catholic Church in Ireland, Scotland and England and Wales.  It is a day dedicated to celebrating and upholding the dignity of human life from conception to natural death. This year’s theme is ‘Cherishing Life, Accepting Death’.

You will be aware of the work carried out by the Society.  They urgently require collectors to help with their out-door collections which take place outside the church, monthly, after each Mass.  Three collectors are required for each Mass and the time involved is less than 15 minutes per Mass.  For further details, please contact Barbara in the Parish Office and a member of the local Conference will be in touch with you.


The Acts of the Apostles

Howth Parish Bible Study Group continues on Friday 9th October in St. Columbanus Hall at 10.45am.  All are welcome.


An information evening about bereavement with guest speaker Jane McKenna (founder of The LauraLynn Children’s Hospice Foundation)

Howth and Sutton Horticultural Society will host a Talk on Wednesday 7th October at 8.00pm in Howth Yacht Club.  The Speaker will be Oliver Schurmann who will talk about Prairie Style Plants in the Irish Climate.  All welcome – Admission €5.  Refreshments and Plant Sale during the Evening.

SUTTON PARK SCHOOL will host its annual “Open Evening” in the school on Thursday 15th October from 7.00pm to 9.00pm. All are welcome.

Howth Folk Choir singing one Sunday morning Mass every month. (10.30am)  The Folk choir are looking for singers and musicians to join them.  Children from age 8 upwards, teenagers and adults who are interested are all welcome to join.  A one hour practise for the Mass is held on two Tuesday evenings prior to that Sunday in the Sacristy from  8pm – 9pm.  For more information Tel.
