Sunday 4th May 2014

Third Sunday of Easter (18/14)

MAY DAY HOLIDAY – MONDAY 5th MAY - Mass at 11.00am followed by Miraculous Medal Novena Prayers.

SHARE SUNDAY

This weekend marks 40 years since the launch of Share.  Initially Share enabled churches to be built in newly developing areas.  Today Share provides financial support to provide services to support these parishes in areas such as child-safeguarding, human resources, education and schools and in the area of evangelisation.  Your continued support is much appreciated.  A summary of the Share Fund is available in the church.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION

First Holy Communion for the pupils of Second Class in Howth’s Primary School - Scoil Mhuire, will take place on Saturday 10th May at 11.00 a.m. in the Church.  We remember them in our prayers.

An Afternoon of Reflection and Renewal on the Eucharist

On Saturday 10th May from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm there will be an afternoon of Reflection and Renewal on the Eucharist.  It will begin in St. Columbanus Hall with a talk by Fr. Paul Churchill, Chaplain to the Apostolate of Eucharistic Adoration.  This will be followed by time for discussion and tea/coffee.  Then participants will be invited to go over to the Church for a half hour of silent prayer adoration and reflection.  The afternoon will conclude with Benediction.  There will be an opportunity for the Sacrament of Reconciliation for those who wish.  This is an opportunity to reflect on how a deeper awareness of Christ present in the Eucharist can help us to see others (especially those in need of any kind) as members of his Body and reach out in love and solidarity to them.  Would intending participants kindly leave their name and phone number with the Parish Secretary.       Organised by the Parish Eucharistic Adoration Group

HOWTH & SUTTON PENINSULA SOCIETY is running a fundraising clothing recycling drive in aid of St. Francis Hospice, Raheny on Saturday 10th May.  Please donate all your clean unwanted clothes, bed linen, towels, shoes, bags, belts and soft toys.  Laptops, intact with lead, and mobiles phones accepted but please keep separate.  Books also accepted but not school books, magazines or diaries.  No household bric a brac.  Please drop off all items between 10.00am and 12.30pm on the day at St. Fintan’s Church Car Park, Sutton. Thank you for your support.
