THIRD SUNDAY OF LENT                                                                                      (09/13)

After the first two weeks of Lent, we hear once again, this week words of great comfort. We also hear challenging words as well. It is by our fruit we are known as Christians. The Gospel today leaves us in no doubt that the purpose of a Christian’s life is to bear rich fruit in how we live our lives. That fruit must surely include how we care for the most needy and most vulnerable people in our communities and in our world.

This year’s Novena of Grace will begin on Monday 4th March at 8.00 p.m.

Monday 4th to Friday 8th March Novena Mass each evening at 8.00pm.  Saturday 9th March Novena Mass at 7.00 p.m.  Sunday 10th March Novena Mass at 12noon.  Monday and Tuesday 11th and 12th March Novena Mass at 8.00pm.  The Novena will be conducted by Father Piaras Jackson, S.J.

There will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament this afternoon from 4.00 to 5.00 p.m.

Sung Evening Prayer and Benediction will follow at 5 o’clock.  All welcome.

Thanks to all those who contribute to the PARISH FUND.

Your continued support is much appreciated.

A word of gratitude to all who contribute to the Church in any way.  Many thanks.

Join us this WEDNESDAY, 6th MARCH at 11.00 a.m. in SANTA SABINA CONVENT, SUTTON for some quiet time to meditate and pray during this Lenten season.  This is an opportunity to pray a while, using Scripture, as we journey with Jesus through the wilderness.  For more information please contact Sr. Anne c/o Baldoyle Parish Office 832 4313 or James c/o Sutton Parish Office 01 839 2001.

Two hours of video nostalgia covering Howth History and Events in 1972

A wonderful evening of memories and nostalgia took place last Wednesday, (27th Feb) when Scoil Mhuire hosted a Video Night.  Many thanks to all those who helped on the night especially Danny McLoughlin who converted the Video onto DVD and has produced copies for a Fund-Raising initiative. A big ‘Thank You’ also to Nicky McLoughlin, Lua Clarke, Helen Moore, Joan Lyons, Maureen Redmond, Alix Sheridan and Mr. John Chambers the School Principal.  The orders for DVD’s are now being processed and will be delivered as soon as possible.  Again, many thanks to all who helped to make it a most enjoyable and successful evening.
