KILBARRACK CEMETERY

Kilbarrack Cemetery will hold their annual prayer service in the cemetery to-day,  Sunday 31st May at 3.00pm.


BANK HOLIDAY  -  MONDAY 1st JUNE

There will be one Mass in the Church at 11.00 a.m. followed by Miraculous Medal Novena Prayers.


ANNUAL CORPUS CHRISTI DIOCESAN EUCHARISTIC PROCESSION

‘In Communion with Christ and with one another’   Led by Archbishop Diarmuid Martin.  7.30pm on Thursday 4th June at Clonliffe College, Drumcondra.  Assemble 7.15pm.  All are welcome, particularly children who have recently celebrated their First Communion and their families.


FRIDAY 5th JUNE - FIRST FRIDAY OF THE MONTH

Morning Masses at 8.00 and 10.00.  The Masses on the first Friday of the month are offered for those whose names are on the Parish Altar List of the Dead.


Spirit of Howth” Photography Competition 2015

Howth Photographic Club invite entries to The Charlie McDermott “Spirit of Howth” Photography Competition 2015.  Junior section up to 16 and Adults section over 16 Photographs will be judged on the extent to which they reflect the “Spirit of Howth” in the widest sense of people, scenery, activities, culture or heritage.  Photos can be black and white or colour ranging in size from 6”x 4” up to 12”x 8” un-mounted.  First Prize €100  Second Prize €50  Third Prize €25  Prizes in both the Adult and Junior sections  Send / deliver your entries (maximum 3 un-mounted photographs) to Sean Briody, c/o McDermott’s Pharmacy, Main Street, Howth with your name, address, phone number and the age category entered clearly printed on the back ( preferably on an adhesive Label).  Closing date for entries is Friday 3rd July   Entry Fee to the Adult Section is €2 per entry or a maximum of 3 entries for €5.  Entry to the Junior Section is Free.  Prizes will be presented on Friday July 10th 2015 at 7pm in the Old Courthouse Harbour Road Howth.

Lord, as I prepare to sit my exams, send your Holy Spirit to guide me and be with me.

Thank you for the many talents and gifts you have given me and for the opportunity of education.

Keep me calm.

Help me do the best I can on the day of my exam.

Help me to remember all that I have studied, to express it clearly and to answer the questions as best that I can.

Give me peace, understanding and wisdom and be with me today and always.  Amen.

HOWTH MIDSUMMER LITERARY ARTS FESTIVAL takes place 5th to 7th June, in Howth Castle and the Burrow National school.  The literary strand of the festival comprises of five “in conversation” events headlined by Pulitzer Prize winners Richard Ford and Michael Cunningham and Booker Prize winners John Banville, Anne Enright and Roddy Doyle. RECENT BAPTISM

The Parish Community warmly welcomes Olivia Therese Meaney who was baptised recently in our Church.  Congratulations and every joy to her proud parents, Grandparents, God Parents and extended family.

HOWTH SUMMER PROJECT  1st to 10th July 2015

Enrolments and Bookings for this year’s Summer Project will take place on Sunday 14th June from 9.00 am to 1.00pm and on Monday 15th June from 10.00am to 11.00am in Saint Columbanus Hall, Main Street, Howth.  Bring last year’s badge and enrol for €4.00 - without badge enrol for €5.00   Lots of activities including Quasar, Swimming, Bowling, Arts & Crafts, Cookery, Hockey, Fun with Food, Fancy Dress Disco, Basketball, Bouncy Castle & Giant Slide, Soccer and Knock-Out.  All the Leaders are Garda Vetted for the safety of your children and as this is completely voluntary, it is the cheapest Summer activity around.
