Thirty First Sunday in Ordinary Time                                            (42/11)

 

ANNUAL FORTY HOURS’ ADORATION

The annual period of Solemn Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament (FORTY HOURS’ ADORATION) will take place this week-end  -  (30th/31st October).

The Exposition will begin after the 12 o’clock Mass to-day  -  Sunday  and will continue until just before the Sunday Evening Mass.  There will be Sung Evening Prayer to-day - Sunday at 5 o’clock.

The Exposition will continue after the 11 o’clock Mass tomorrow - Monday (31st October) and will conclude with a Eucharistic Prayer Service and Benediction at 5.00 p.m.

 

THE FEAST OF ALL SAINTS – TUESDAY 1ST NOVEMBER

Tuesday (1st November) is a Holyday of Obligation.  Vigil Mass on Monday evening at 7.00 p.m.  Masses on Tuesday morning, at 8.00 a.m. (as it is a working Holy Day),

10.30 a.m. and 12.00 noon.  Evening Mass at 7 o’clock.

Wednesday 2nd November is The Commemoration of all the Faithful Departed- ALL SOULS DAY.  Morning Masses at 8.00 a.m. and 10.00 a.m.  The Masses on All Souls Day will be offered for those whose names are on the Parish Altar List of the Dead.

 

FRIDAY 4th NOVEMBER - FIRST FRIDAY OF THE MONTH

Morning Masses at 8.00 and 10.00.  Evening Mass at 8 o’clock.  All the Masses on the first Friday of the month are offered for those whose names are on the Parish Altar List of the Dead.

 

ANNUAL CEMETERY MASS

The Annual Mass for all those buried in the two Cemeteries in the Parish - Saint Mary’s and Old Abbey – will take place on Sunday 6th November in the Church at 3 o’clock.  The Blessing of the Graves in both Cemeteries will take place immediately after the Mass.

 

IMPORTANT PUBLIC MEETING

The Fingal Joint Policing Committee will host a public meeting for the Howth, Sutton and Baldoyle areas on Wednesday 23rd November, 2011 at 7.30 p.m. in The Marine Hotel, Sutton, Co. Dublin.

The Fingal Joint Policing Committee (JPC) provides a forum for An Garda Síochána, the Local Authority Members, Oireachtas Members and community interests, to get together in a regular and structured manner.  At public meetings of the JPC an opportunity is provided for local residents to make observations, and address questions to the members of the JPC on matters relating to crime and anti-social behaviour, with a view to improving public safety within their local community.  This provides a unique opportunity for members of the community to feed into the partnership approach afforded by the existence of a JPC within their area.  f you have any queries or require any further information please contact Martina O’Connor on 01 8905174.

PREPARATION FOR THE EUCHARISTIC CONGRESS

THE WORD IS ALIVE and ACTIVE – SUTTON PARISH CENTRE –2nd November 8.00 p.m.

On Wednesday 2nd November at 8pm in the Parish Centre, Sutton we will be reflecting on STAGE TWO of our journey toward the Eucharistic Congress - THE WORD OF GOD.  The third session will focus on The Word was made Flesh.  Anyone interested in deepening their understanding of how Christ gathers us to listen, to hear, to be nourished and to be formed into community by God’s Word is more than welcome to attend.  For more information please contact James in Sutton Parish Office, 839 2001 or james.daly@dublindiocese.ie

All presentations, with discussion and debate will take place in Saint Columbanus Hall from
