A WORLDWIDE HOUR OF ADORATION WITH POPE FRANCIS

To-day - Sunday (2nd June) is the Feast of CORPUS CHRISTI.  Pope Francis will be making a special hour of Eucharistic Adoration in St. Peter's, Rome this afternoon as part of the Church's Year of Faith.  He has invited parishes all around the world to join him before the Blessed Sacrament in their churches for this hour.  In response to the Holy Father’s invitation we in Howth will hold an hour of Eucharistic Adoration in our Church of the Assumption (before the Sacred Heart altar) at 4.00 pm to-day followed by Benediction at 5.00pm.  All are warmly invite.

JUNE BANK HOLIDAY    -   MONDAY 3rd JUNE

There will be one Mass in the Church at 11.00 a.m. followed by the Miraculous Medal Novena Prayers.

 

“You shall be my Witnesses…”  Parish preparation for Confirmation Programme

This week the fifth and final session of the above programme takes place in Scoil Mhuire on Tuesday 4th June at 7.30 pm.  This is a review and celebration session.  Jonathan Griffin, a local Church Youth Leader will work with the young people on the meaning of Confirmation in their lives.  The parents will join us at 8.20 pm for a short prayer service, presentation of certificates and refreshments.

 

FRIDAY 7th June - FIRST FRIDAY OF THE MONTH

Morning Masses at 8.00 and 10.00.  Evening Mass at 8 o’clock.  All the Masses on the first Friday of the month are offered for those whose names are on the Parish Altar List of the Dead.

 

PRO-LIFE RALLY – SATURDAY 8th JUNE

A National Vigil for Life event will be held in Merrion Square, Dublin on Saturday 8th June from 3.00 to 4.00 p.m.  In advance of the Vigil, there will be a period of quiet prayer in Saint Andrew’s Church, Westland Row from 1.30 to 2.30 p.m. which will be attended by Archbishop Diarmuid Martin.  All are welcome to attend.  For those who wish to fulfil their Sunday obligation, Mass in Saint Andrew’s Church, Westland Row, on Saturday evening is at 6.30 p.m.

 

HOWTH SUMMER PROJECT   1st to 12th July 2013

Enrolments and Bookings for this year’s Summer Project will take place on Sunday 9th June from 9.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and 10.00 a.m. on Monday 10th June in Saint Columbanus Hall, Main Street, Howth.  €5.00 to enrol.  Project will run from Monday 1st to Friday 12th July based in Scoil Mhuire School Hall.  It is for all Boys and Girls from 4 years to 15 years with activities suitable for their ages.

The Blessing of the Graves and Mass will take place in Saint Fintan’s Cemetery, Sutton, on Sunday 9th June at 3.00 p.m.

 

ANNUAL STRAWBERRY FAIR – SCOIL MHUIRE

The Annual Strawberry Fair will take place again this year at Howth Primary School (Scoil Mhuire), Tucketts Lane, Howth, on Sunday 16th June from 12 noon to 4 pm.  All welcome and all proceeds go towards the school.
