Sunday 29th November 2015

First Sunday of Advent  (47/15)

First Sunday of Advent

There will be Eucharistic Adoration to-day from 3.00pm followed by Evening Prayer at 4.00pm

ADVENT AND THE FAMILY MASS

Today we begin Advent and open the first “door” on our special Advent calendar. Thanks to the boys and girls who coloured in pictures last week, we now have a part of the nativity scene behind each “door”.  (On Christmas Day we will gather all the pictures together to make our own colourful nativity scene.)  As this is a very special time of year we have extra activities for the younger members of the parish.  There are three different pages that can be brought home; a simple Advent calendar, an advent wreath picture and an advent wreath activity to help you make a wreath at home.  These pages are all in the Family Mass box at the foot of the Family Mass notice board – please take one or all home with you!  There is also Advent material on the parish website at www.howthparish.ie   We would love to include as many families as possible to help with the special roles of the Mass during the four Sundays of Advent.  Please contact Ann Campbell 086-8183709, Lisa O’Neill 087-2359254 or Mary Clavin 086-6023313.
