Celebrated on 11th February, the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes
Archbishop Martin is leading the Dublin celebration of the World Day of the Sick with Eucharist and Anointing of the Sick in the Church of Our Lady of Good Counsel, Mourne Road on Sunday 5th February at 3pm. In Howth, this will be the fourth year that we make a special celebration of the World Day of the Sick. As in past years we will have small cards in the Church (on a table on the altar steps) where individuals can write the names of loved ones who are sick and also the names of those who are caregivers to the sick. There is a special prayer card containing prayers for the Sick and the Caregiver. These prayer cards (which are bookmarksize) will be available for people to take home and/or give to loved ones. The prayer cards and name cards will be in the Church on weekend 4th /5th February. These will remain in the Church all week. At all Masses on 11th /12th February the prayers will be read and the basket containing all the names will be placed at the foot of the altar, including them in a special way in the celebration of the Eucharist.
