World Day of Peace 2015 will be celebrated in the diocese at a special Mass in the Church of the Three Patrons, Rathgar on Thursday 1st January 2015 at 11.00 am.  The theme chosen by Pope Francis, is “Slaves no more but brothers and sisters”.   All are welcome.


Monday 29th December 2014 to SATURDAY 3rd January 2015

There will be one Mass in the Church at 11.00am each morning


The normal Mass schedule resumes from Monday 5th January 2015


THE EPIPHANY OF THE LORD

Tuesday, 6th January is a Holyday of Obligation.  Vigil Mass on Monday evening - 5th January at 7 o’clock.  Masses on Tuesday morning, 6th January at 8.00am and 10.00am.  There will also be Mass on Tuesday evening at 7 o’clock.




CHRISTMAS DUES

Many thanks to those who sent in Christmas Dues -  your generous support is much appreciated.


Many thanks to all who contributed to the cost of the flowers for the decoration of the altar for Christmas.  A big ‘Thank-You’ to Marie, Mary, Kay, Margaret and Martina for the Floral arrangements throughout the year.  Thanks also to Michael Hunt, who provides the Christmas Tree every year.



WEEK OF PRAYER FOR CHRISTIAN UNITY

The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity will be observed from 18th – 25th January 2015.  Its inauguration in Dublin will take place at an interdenominational service in St Bartholomew’s Anglican Church, Clyde Road, Dublin 4 on Sunday 18th January at 3.00pm.  Fr Damian McNeice, Chairperson of the Dublin Council of Churches, will preach the sermon.  This year’s theme, “Give me to drink”(John 4:7) was chosen by the Christian communities in Brazil.

SAINT VINCENT de PAUL ANNUAL CHRISTMAS COLLECTION

We thank you for your generous response to this collection which was held recently.  The total collection to date is €7,450  The members of the Howth Conference of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society thank you for your generosity.



THE FAT-TURKEY CHALLENGE

The Annual Challenge takes place on Sunday 28th December (11.30am) from St. Fintan’s Church, Sutton.  Proceeds from the Walk and Run go to developing rugby in Suttonians and in aid of the I.R.F.U. Charitable Trust for seriously injured players.
