National Mental Health Week celebrated at Kilrock House The HSE home at Kilrock House hosted a great get-together for residents, neighbours, friends, teachers & TYS students last Tuesday afternoon to promote mental health in the most positive light. Almost 100 guests enjoyed a memorable session of music, dance and chat in this home of historic importance built in 1875 for the then Chief Justice, the Right Hon. Gerald Fitzgibbon. Mental Health Ireland laid on a very informative display of literature for young and old alike, while CEO Brian Howard informed the gathering of its valuable work. In true parish fashion neighbours brought buns, cakes, pastries, biscuits and refreshments, while local artists and musicians, too many to name, laid on some great music. A particular thank you is due to Janette Franklin, Clinical Nurse Manager at Kilrock House for taking the initiative and for all her hard work in organising the day. We thank the residents and staff at Kilrock House for inviting us into their home for such an afternoon of enjoyment.
