Seventeenth Sunday in Ordinary Time(29/14)



The Society of Saint Vincent De Paul is seeking your help in its Annual Clothing Appeal.  The appeal is for clean, good-quality clothes, bed-clothes, curtains and shoes.  Bags are available this week-end (Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th July).  The collection of the bags will take place on Sunday 3rd August DURING THE MORNING MASSES.  The Society is conscious of the tremendous support given by the Parishioners of this Parish over the years and thank you most sincerely on behalf of those you have helped.




This year’s Howth Parish Pilgrimage to Knock has now been arranged for SUNDAY 31st August.  Cost - €50 – which includes Coach, Lunch (Tea/Coffee/Soup/Sandwich) and Evening Dinner at the Abbey Hotel, Roscommon.  Bookings may be made in the Parish Office weekday mornings.



Youth 2000 Summer Festival, Cistercian College, Roscrea, Co. Tipperary from Thursday 14th  to Sunday 17th August.  For young people aged 16-35, an opportunity not to be missed to experience the Catholic faith and meet many new people.  This Festival has been nicknamed the “Holy Oxygen” with over 1000 young people from all corners of Ireland attending last year.  The festival is donation only.  Free buses available from towns throughout Ireland.  For more information and to book online or Tel. 01 675 3690  or join us on facebook (youthtwothousandIreland).




Morning Masses at 8.00 and 10.00.  The Masses on the first Friday of the month are offered for those whose names are on the Parish Altar List of the Dead.



Pilgrimage to the Holy Land - Monday 8 - Tuesday 16 September (St Brigid's Parish, Killester) This 9 day pilgrimage takes in all the major sites - Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Nazareth, Cana, Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea.  In addition to a local guide, Monsignor Stenson who is accompanying the pilgrimage will celebrate Mass each day at one of the sacred shrines.  Full details are available from the Parish Office in Killester - Cathy(01) 833 2974


Church Gate Collection

The Irish Wheelchair Association will hold a fund-raising Church Gate Collection to-day, after all the Masses.



Please remember in your prayers NICHOLAS ‘Nicky’ MORTON, who died recently.  We offer our sympathy to his wife Dorothy and his daughters, Lisa and Emma and all the family.  May he rest in peace

BOG OAK and ART EXHIBITION at the Old Courthouse  8th 9thand 10th August.  A variety of bog oak sculptures and paintings on display. Viewing welcome and recommended.
