The Annual World Day of the Sick takes place on Monday 11th February (the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes).  We will remember our sick and their care givers in a special way during the week coming up to 11th February.  From 3rd February, as in other years, we will have a card with a prayer for the sick and the carers.  We will also have cards on which to write the names of family, friends and neighbours who are sick and the names of those who are carers to the sick.  All these names will be remembered in prayers during the week and especially at all Masses on the weekend of 9th/10th February.  The Pope’s message for the World Day of the Sick can be found on the Vatican website (under messages).

Our theme for this year's Faith Development Talks is People Questioning Faith: Faith Questioning PeopleThe talks will be given by Fr. John Byrne and Dr. Bernadette Toal of Orlagh Retreat Centre.  Many of you will be familiar with Fr. Byrne's writing, he has been a contributor to reflections on the Sunday readings published in the missalette.  Dr. Toal is a well known theologian who has been much involved at parish level with faith development.  The talks will take place on Thursdays 7th, 14th and 21st February, in Saint Columbanus Hall, commencing at 7.30 p.m. and followed by discussion.

The first talk is Put out into the Deep: Faith Today, the second is Challenges to Faith Today and the third is Resources for the Faith JourneyAll are welcome.

Please remember in your prayers PATRICK FARREN who died recently.  We offer our sympathy to his wife and family.  We also remember PAULINE FERNANDEZ who died recently.  We offer our sympathy to her husband and family.  Your prayers are also asked for EILEEN BOURKE who died recently.  We offer our sympathy to her family.  May they rest in peace.
