Fr. Kilian also wishes to thank all he met and served here in Howth and also Baldoyle and Sutton.  He asks for your prayers, he hopes to be active in retirement and will reside in his birthplace of Clontarf.  He thanks God for 50 years of priestly ministry and wishes God’s blessing on the good people of the isthmus of Howth.

Alex Fearon and Daniel Keane (fifth year students) will be travelling to Calcutta in November as part of a group of fifteen students from Belvedere College.  This social justice programme has been running since 1995 and the students fundraise to support a number of projects and then work for two weeks on those projects in Calcutta.  In some of the poorest areas of Calcutta and in the most basic of conditions, they teach street children and those who work as child labourers. They also help to care for the destitute and dying in the hospices set up by Mother Teresa, giving some degree of dignity back to these people who have nothing.  All of the money they bring with them goes directly to the poor of Calcutta and does make a difference to the lives of some of the poorest people in the world.  On the weekend of 8th & 9th August, Alex and Daniel, along with family and friends, will carry out a fund-raising collection in the parish of Howth.  All the funds raised will go towards this charity work, every euro is worth 70 Rupee in India so the money goes a long way.

Colouring pages for children

Activity pages and a separate colouring page on the theme of the Sunday gospel, along with crayons to borrow, are available for children on the left hand side of the altar under the "Summer Gospels" display board.  Please encourage your children to use these pages and help them read the prayer for each week on the display board.
