Third Sunday in Ordinary Time                                               (04/14)



Catholic Schools Week (CSW) will be celebrated between Sunday 26th January and 2nd February.  The purpose of the week is to highlight and celebrate the wonderful contribution that Catholic Schools make to our local communities and society in general.  The theme for CSW 2014 is ‘Catholic Schools – Centres of Faith and Learning’.


“You shall be my Witnesses…” Parish preparation for Confirmation programme

To-day, SUNDAY (26th January) at the 10.30 FAMILY MASS we welcome the young people of the parish who will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation later this year. The young people and their parents will take an active part in the Liturgy.  We invite parishioners to join parents and family members to pray for and support the young people as they prepare for this important Sacrament.  For further information contact Allyson O’Rourke, 086 822 8769 or Barbara, Parish Office, 01 839 7398

Saturday 1st February is the Feast of Saint Brigid, Patroness of Ireland.

Sunday 2nd February is the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord (Candlemas).

Candles will be blessed at all the Masses on Sunday.




Please remember in your prayers MAY DUNNE, late of St. Peter’s Terrace, who died recently.  We offer our sympathy to her daughter Valerie, sons Jack and David and all the family.  We also remember KITTY KANE who died during the week.  We offer our sympathy to all her family.  May they rest in peace.

On Tuesday 28th January at 8.00pm Liz Gillis and Micheál O Doibhilín will give a lecture in the Howth Angling Centre, West Pier, on “The Customs House Fire Brigade: The Burning of the Customs House 25 May 1921”.  Admission to non-members of the Society is €4  All welcome.
