Sunday 24th January 2016 Third Sunday in Ordinary Time (04/16) HOWTH PARISH REFORM AND RENEWAL GROUP Tomorrow evening - Monday 25th January at 8.00 pm St. Columbanus Hall Vincent MacNamara will speak on 'Morality the Way of the Heart: Truth, Goodness and Beauty' Vincent MacNamara is a well known lecturer and writer. He is the author of several books including New Life for Old: the Human and Spiritual Journey, The Call to be Human: Making sense of Morality, Faith and Ethics and The Truth in Love. Vincent was educated at University College Cork, St Patrick's College Maynooth, the Anglican and Gregorian Universities in Rome and the University of Oxford. He lectures in the Milltown Institute, Dublin, and is a member of St Patrick's Missionary Society. ALL WELCOME CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK 2016 Catholic Schools Week (CSW) will be celebrated between Sunday 31st January and 6th February. The purpose of the week is to highlight and celebrate the wonderful contribution that Catholic Schools make to our local communities and society in general. The theme for CSW 2016 is ‘Catholic Schools – Challenged to Proclaim God’s Mercy’. WEEK OF GUIDED PRAYER St. Fintan’s Parish, Sutton are hosting a Week of Guided Prayer from Sunday 6th March to Saturday evening 12th March. It is an opportunity to participate in a retreat with a difference, a 'Retreat in Daily Life', or a 'Busy Person's Retreat'. It is a way of making a retreat in the midst of daily living, as by taking some quiet time each day on your own, you are enabled to find God in your everyday life, in all its ups and downs. The Retreat will take place in the Parish Pastoral Centre at St. Fintan’s church. During the weekdays participants will meet with their guide for about 30 minutes. BIBLE STUDY GROUP Howth Parish Bible Study Group continues on Friday 29th January in St. Columbanus Hall at 10.45am. All are welcome. Proclaiming the Word Helen Norton will bring the best out of readers by working on their use of voice as they proclaim God’s word in the liturgy.
