Sunday 24th August 2014 Twenty First Sunday in Ordinary Time(33/14)
FUND RAISING CHURCH GATE COLLECTION The Peter McVerry Trust was founded by Fr Peter McVerry in 1983 in response to the growing problem of youth homelessness in Dublin. The charity is committed to reducing homelessness and the harm caused by drug misuse and social disadvantage. They provide a range of high quality services for individuals from the ages of 12 upwards, primarily to those with complex needs. The services include prevention, housing, homeless, drug treatment and under 18s residential services. However, it is widely known that homelessness in Ireland is at a crisis point and that homeless services are full to capacity with many individuals, couples and families being accommodated in hotels and B&B’s. The Peter McVerry Trust will hold a Church Gate Collection to-day – Sunday 24th August, to raise funds for this most deserving cause. Your support would be very much appreciated.
