Parish preparation for Confirmation programme
The special Mass for all the young people who made their Confirmation recently, will take place to-day, Sunday 24th June at 10.30 a.m. As a parish community will welcome the young people and their parents.

CHARLIE McDERMOTT ‘SPIRIT OF HOWTH’ PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION
Competition is open to Juniors 16 years and under and Adults over 16. Photographs will be judged on the extent to which they reflect the “Spirit of Howth” in the widest sense of people, scenery, activities, culture or heritage. Photos can be black and white or colour ranging in size from 6”x4” up to 12”x8”. Prizes – 1st €100 2nd €50 3rd €25 in both Adult and Junior categories.
Send/ deliver your entries (max 3 entries per person) to Mr. Seán Briody, C/o McDermott’s Pharmacy, Main Street, Howth, to reach him no later than 12 noon Friday 29th June. Entry Fee to the Adult Category is €2 per photo or max 3 photos for €5. Entry to the Junior Category is free.

HOWTH PARISH REFORM AND RENEWAL GROUP
The next meeting will take place tomorrow evening, Monday 25th June at 8.00 pm in St Columbanus Hall. The meeting, facilitated by Ailin Doyle, is the last in a series of meetings focusing on Vatican Two as the Church marks the 50th Anniversary of the Council. This talk discusses Fr. Jim Corkery’s ideas about Parish Development in relation to Vatican 2 Documents. We will also spend some time discussing the proposed new 'umbrella organisation' to represent those interested in Reform and Renewal in our Church. All Welcome.

HOWTH PENINSULA HERITAGE SOCIETY – JUNE LECTURE
On Tuesday next, 26th June at 8.00p.m. Dr. Barbara Walsh will deliver a lecture in the Howth Sea-Angling Centre, West Pier, Howth on ’Woolworths and the Irish main street, when the shopping was good’ Admission to non-members of the Society is €4.00. All welcome.

EAST OF IRELAND PIPE BAND CHAMPIONSHIPS
Howth Promenade Sunday 1st July at 3.00 p.m. Pipe bands from all over the country will come to Howth to compete in this annual event.
