ANNUAL COLLECTION FOR PETER’S PENCE The Annual collection for Peter’s Pence to support the Holy Father, Pope Francis and the Pontifical Charities is to be taken up at all Masses in the Diocese next weekend – 29th and 30th June. This collection will replace the usual SHARE collection

“YOU SHALL BE MY WITNESSES…” PARISH PREPARATION FOR CONFIRMATION PROGRAMME To-day, Sunday 23rd June at the 10.30 Mass we as a parish community will welcome the young people who received the Sacrament of Confirmation this year and their parents. Together we will celebrate the fact that they have become Confirmed in their faith and encourage them as they develop their Faith Life. LITURGY OF THE EUCHARIST Mystery of the Liturgy: A study on the Liturgy of the Eucharist presented by Fr. Robert Barron as part of the 'Catholicism Series'. This episode on DVD invites us to see the Eucharistic Liturgy as an encounter. Following the DVD there will be an opportunity for discussion. The meeting will conclude with a short prayer service to mark the last meeting before the summer holidays. Please invite a friend or neighbour.
YOUTH NEWS RIO-IN-DUBLIN is a response by the local Church in Dublin to re-create some of the atmosphere of World Youth Day for young people who are unable to attend. It will take place in Church St Friary on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th July. Rio in Dublin will compliment the young pilgrims who will make the pilgrimage to Rio with Archbishop Martin. Registration is now open. Cost - €50 - which includes Coach, Lunch (Tea/Coffee/Sandwiches) and Evening Dinner at the Abbey Hotel, Roscommon. Bookings may be made in the Parish Office/Sacristy weekday mornings.

HOWTH PENINSULA HERITAGE SOCIETY JUNE LECTURE On Tuesday next, 25th June at 8.00p.m. Dr. Maurice Manning will deliver a lecture in the Howth Sea-Angling Centre, West Pier, Howth on ’The Irish Parliamentary Party at Westminster: Its History and Legacy’ Admission to non-members of the Society is €4.00. EAST OF IRELAND FESTIVAL OF PIPING AND DRUMMING Howth Promenade - Sunday 30th June at 3.00 p.m. Pipe bands from Limerick, Kilkenny, New Ross, Arklow, Bandon, Cork, Athy, Cashel, and Armagh will come to Howth to compete in this annual colourful event, with each band in their own tartan uniform playing lively and entertaining tunes. The event finishes with a short parade of all the bands along the promenade.
QUEEN OF PEACE A new film about Medjugorje has recently been released. Christina Georgotas, a gifted film maker and producer, will share her testimony at a screening to be held on Sunday, 30th June at 7pm in Woodlock Hall, All Hallows College, Drumcondra.
