THIRD SUNDAY OF EASTER                                                                  (16/12)

Do you have a memory of the Eucharistic Congress of 1932?

Did you as child or as a young adult attend the 30th International Eucharistic Congress in Dublin in 1932?  If you are among the relatively few who can answer yes to that question, the organisers of the 50th International Eucharistic Congress 2012 would love to hear your memories. A special event Gathering and Remembering 1932  is being organised at the Brennan Green Isle Hotel beside the Naas Road at Clondalkin from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm tomorrow, Monday 23 April to which 1932 Congress participants are invited.  This complimentary event begins with tea/coffee and includes an opportunity to share your memories from 1932, to attend Mass and to enjoy a hot lunch.  There will also be the opportunity to book a complimentary ticket to attend either the opening ceremony of this years Congress in the RDS on 10-June or the closing Statio Orbis in Croke Park on 17-June.

If you were there in 1932 and wish to avail of these offers, please phone Aoife in the Secretariat of the 50th International Eucharistic 2012 at (01) 234-9940.  If you know of someone who qualifies, please bring this opportunity to their attention.  For more information visit

Next Sunday, 29th April, is Vocations Sunday.  A special day in the Diocese when we have an opportunity to reflect on our Baptismal calling to live a life of grace and holiness and an opportunity to pray for and foster vocations to the priesthood and religious life.

A special collection to support our students for the priesthood replaces the usual SHARE collection.  Your support is very much appreciated.

The Reform and Renewal Group will meet tomorrow evening, Monday 23rd April at 8.00 pm in Saint Columbanus Hall.  This meeting will feature a talk [Reaping the Harvest? Vatican 11 - 50 years after the event] delivered by Fr.Gerry O'Hanlon SJ in Manresa House in February 2012 - followed by a discussion.  The meeting will be facilitated by Ailin Doyle.  ALL WELCOME

The 11 o’clock Mass on Saturday, 12th May, will be the First Holy Communion Mass for the pupils of Second Class in Howth’s Primary School, Scoil Mhuire.  We remember them in our prayers.

Parishioners may be interested to note that the Readings for each Sunday, in both English and Irish, are posted on the Parish website each week.  This may be of particular interest to those who are sick or housebound and who may not have access to a Mass leaflet.  The Parish website is and the Readings are to be found under the "Liturgy" heading on the left side panel.
