HOWTH PARISH  -  BIBLE STUDY GROUP

BRINGING FAITH TO LIFE  continues on Friday 26th June at 11.00am in St. Columbanus Hall.  All are welcome to participate.


HOWTH PARISH PILGRIMAGE TO KNOCK

This year’s Howth Parish Pilgrimage to Knock has now been arranged for SUNDAY 30th August.  Cost - €50 – which includes Coach, Lunch (Tea/Coffee/Soup/Sandwich) and Evening Dinner at the Abbey Hotel, Roscommon.  Bookings may be made in the Parish Office weekday mornings.


Spirit of Howth” Photography Competition 2015

Howth Photographic Club invite entries to The Charlie McDermott “Spirit of Howth” Photography Competition 2015.  Junior section up to 16 and Adults section over 16 Photographs will be judged on the extent to which they reflect the “Spirit of Howth” in the widest sense of people, scenery, activities, culture or heritage.  Photos can be black and white or colour ranging in size from 6”x 4” up to 12”x 8” un-mounted.  First Prize €100  Second Prize €50  Third Prize €25  Prizes in both the Adult and Junior sections  Send / deliver your entries (maximum 3 un-mounted photographs) to Sean Briody, c/o McDermott’s Pharmacy, Main Street, Howth with your name, address, phone number and the age category entered clearly printed on the back ( preferably on an adhesive Label).  Closing date for entries is Friday 3rd July   Entry Fee to the Adult Section is €2 per entry or a maximum of 3 entries for €5.  Entry to the Junior Section is Free.  Prizes will be presented on Friday July 10th 2015 at 7pm in the Old Courthouse Harbour Road Howth.


PETER’S PENCE COLLECTION

The Annual Collection for the Pope and Pontifical charities (Peter’s Pence) will take place at all Masses next weekend, Sat 27th June/Sun 28th June.  This collection replaces the SHARE collection.

The local Conference of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society will hold their monthly collection to-day – after all the Masses.


Mindfulness Meditation with Joe Clarke

Meditation continues in St. Columbanus Hall on Monday evening 22nd June at 7.30pm.

Meditation will also take place on Tuesday morning 23rd June from 11.00am in St. Columbanus Hall.  All are welcome.

POPE FRANCIS  -  RELEASES HIS LONG AWAITED ENCYCLICAL ‘Laudato Si’

On Tuesday 23rd June at 8.00pm Dr. CIARAN WALLACE, TCD, will give a lecture in the Howth Angling Centre, West Pier, on “Civilian life in Ireland in the Great War”.  Admission to non-members of the Society is €5  All welcome.
