Sunday 18th October 2015 Twenty Ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time Mission Sunday (41/15) MISSION SUNDAY To-day is World Mission Sunday. The theme for Mission Sunday 2015 is ‘Abundant Life’. The second collection at all the Masses to-day will be for the Missions and will replace the usual SHARE collection. HOWTH PARISH REFORM AND RENEWAL GROUP St. Columbanus Hall, Howth, 8.00pm Tomorrow evening - Monday 19th October The Fourteenth Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops: What Does it Involve and its Significance in the Life of the Church? Áilín Doyle, formerly a Senior Lecturer in Moral Theology in The Milltown Institute of Theology and Philosophy and more recently an adjunct lecturer in The Loyola Institute, Trinity College, will speak on the Synod in Rome. All are Welcome. Mindfulness Meditation with Joe Clarke Meditation will take place on Tuesday morning 20th October in St. Columbanus Hall, from 11.00am to 12noon. Tomorrow evening, (Monday, 19th Oct.), Meditation will not take place as there is a meeting in the Parish Hall. Please note that Monday 26th Oct. is a Bank Holiday and Meditation will not take place that evening. Meditation on Monday evenings will resume on 2nd November at 7.30 p.m. All are welcome. EXPOSITION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT The annual period of Solemn Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament (40 Hours’ Adoration) will take place on 25th and 26th October. The Exposition will begin after the 12 noon Mass Sunday 25th October and will continue until 5.00pm. There will be Evening Prayer on Sunday at 5 o’clock. The Exposition will continue after the 11 o’clock Mass on Bank Holiday Monday (26th October) and will conclude with a Eucharistic Prayer Service and Benediction at 5 o’clock. ANNUAL CEMETERY MASS The Annual Mass for all those buried in the two Cemeteries in the Parish – Saint Mary’s and Old Abbey – will take place on Sunday 1st November in the Church at 3 o’clock. The Blessing of the Graves in both Cemeteries will take place immediately after the Mass.
