Fourth Sunday of Lent                                                                       (11/12)

 

SUNDAYS OF LENT   EXPOSITION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT

There will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament this afternoon from 4.00 to 5.00 p.m.

Sung Evening Prayer and Benediction will follow at 5 o’clock.  All welcome.

 

SAINT VINCENT De PAUL SOCIETY

The local Conference of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society will hold their monthly collection to-day – after all the Masses.

 

PUBLIC HOLIDAY  -  MONDAY 19th MARCH

There will be one Mass in the Church at 11.00 a.m. followed by Miraculous Medal Novena Prayers.

 

COFFEE MORNING

The Parents’ Association of Scoil Mhuire, Howth’s Primary School, will host a Coffee Morning in the multipurpose room in Scoil Mhuire on Friday 23rd March from 9.00 a.m. to 12 noon.  Supporting Nationwide Daffodil Day on behalf of the Irish Cancer Society.

 

A DATE FOR YOUR DIARY

The morning of Saturday, 31st March has been set aside for the Easter 'Clean Up' of our magnificent Church.  We plan to start working after 10 o'clock Mass until 11 at which time we shall have a tea, coffee and biscuit break and then continue on until 1 o'clock.  Please do set some time aside on the 31st to meet and work with fellow parishioners, give half an hour or an hour it will make a difference.

 

RECONCILIATION SERVICE

WITH INDIVIDUAL CONFESSION IN PREPARATION FOR EASTER

This Prayer Service will take place on Tuesday, 3rd April at 8.00 p.m. in the Church.  The Service will be conducted by Father Martin Nolan, OSA.  There will be a number of visiting Confessors.

 

'TOWARDS AN ASSEMBLY OF THE IRISH CATHOLIC CHURCH'

The Regency Hotel: Monday, 7th May 2012  - 10.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. (Under the auspices of the Association of Catholic Priests)  First Session: Naming the Reality. There will be four lay/clerical speakers giving short input, followed by a general forum.  Tea/Coffee Break

Second Session: The Vision. Three lay/clerical speakers outlining their vision for the Church followed by general forum.  Lunch Break.

SPRING FAIR

Santa Sabina, Dominican College will host a Spring Fair with all proceeds going to Trócaire, from 11.30am until 2.30pm on Sunday 25th March.  All are welcome.

 

HOWTH PARISH PILGRIMAGE TO LOURDES

PARISH REFORM AND RENEWAL GROUP

The Reform and Renewal Group will meet on Monday, 26th March at 8.00 pm in Saint Columbanus Hall.  The meeting, which will be facilitated by Ms. Ailin Doyle, is the first in a series of meetings focusing on Vatican Two.  ALL WELCOME

 

“You shall be my Witnesses…”-Parish preparation for Confirmation programme

On next SUNDAY 25th March at the 10.30 FAMILY MASS we welcome the young people of the parish who will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation later this year.  This is the fourth of the special Family Masses for Confirmation.  The young people and their parents will take an active part in the Liturgy on that day. We invite parishioners to join parents and family members to pray for and support the young people as they prepare for this important Sacrament and we will have special cards with the names of the young people.  We invite parishioners to take a card and pray especially for that young person as he or she prepares for Confirmation.  We thank all the parents, parishioners and teachers who are involved in the preparation of the Mass.
