Dr. Kenneth Newell OBE will preach the sermon. This year’s theme, “Salt of the Earth”(1 Peter 2:9-11) was chosen by the Christian communities in Latvia. The theme highlights the relationship between baptism and proclamation, and the calling shared by all the baptised ‘to proclaim the mighty acts of the Lord’. The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is a privileged moment of prayer, encounter and dialogue. It is an opportunity to recognise and receive the richness and value that are present in the other, the different, and to ask God for the gift of unity.
