ST. PATRICK’S DAY MASSES Tomorrow, Monday 17th March is Saint Patrick’s Day and a Holy Day of Obligation. Mass Times will be : 8.30am, 10.30a.m. and 12 noon. Please note that there is no evening Mass on St. Patrick’s Day.
SAINT VINCENT De PAUL SOCIETY The local Conference of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society will hold their monthly collection to-day – after all the Masses.
LEADING FROM THE FRONT: POPE FRANCIS AND THE ROAD TO A MORE AUTHENTIC CHURCH The Howth Parish Faith Development Group will host a Talk by Cathy Molloy STL, on Thursday 20th March at 8.00pm in St. Columbanus Hall. The theme for the evening, ‘Leading from the Front: Pope Francis and the Road to a More Authentic Church’. Cathy is a theologian who is active in Church affairs and has given talks nationally and internationally to religious and to lay groups. All are welcome.
GOOD FRIDAY STATIONS OF THE CROSSOnce again we look forward to celebrating the Stations of the Cross in the Church on Good Friday in costume, mime and music. Please consider taking part in this presentation, which is always a most rewarding experience. If you are in any way interested in Drama or Mime or in giving a hand on the night, please come to the first rehearsal, which will take place on Wednesday 26th March at 7.30pm in the Church.

WEBSITE UPDATED FOR LENT AND ST. PATRICK’S DAY The parish website www.howthparish.ie has been updated with resources related to the Family Mass for the second Sunday of Lent and a special section there also for St. Patrick’s Day. The section for St. Patrick’s Day includes the story of the shamrock, an extract from St. Patrick’s Breastplate (prayer) and links to activity and colouring pages for younger parishioners.

Altar servers We would like to re-establish a team of altar servers to work at our Family Masses. Altar servers have a very special role in assisting the priest during Mass and especially preparing for the consecration.
