CROSSCARE ANNUAL COLLECTION The Annual Collection for CROSSCARE—the Social Care Agency of the Dublin Diocese - will be made at all Masses next weekend (21st /22nd September). It will replace the normal SHARE Collection CROSSCARE is involved in a wide variety of social projects in the Archdiocese of Dublin. Since it was founded 70 years ago CROSSCARE has continued to seek to redress poverty and social exclusion. It continues to develop new and innovative programmes and to sponsor new research to help inform policies on combating poverty and exclusion. In reaching out to those most in need CROSSCARE operates 11 programmes throughout the Diocese.

OUR DEAD The whole community were saddened and shocked at the tragic death of KAMEL MOALI, father of Celina from 4th Class in Scoil Mhuire. The Principal and members of the School community attended a Service at the Mosque in Clonskeagh on Tuesday 10th September and a Memorial Service was held in Howth Primary School the following day. FAITHFEST is a fantastic new initiative by Dublin Diocese, aimed at teenagers; each event involves a variety of workshops to choose from such as: meditation, music, justice and peace. Faithfest gives young people the opportunity to express their faith and share their thoughts and ideas with teenagers from parishes across the Diocese. The next FaithFest takes place on 4th October in Holy Cross College Diocesan Centre, Dublin 3. For information – email faithfest@dublindiocese.ie
40th ANNIVERSARY - ST. FINTAN'S CHURCH, SUTTON As part of the conclusion to the 40th Anniversary celebrations, the Senior and Junior St Fintan’s Choirs will sing at the 6.30pm Mass on Saturday 28th September in St. Fintan’s Church. At the end of Mass, the Apostolic Nuncio will present certificates to those who were directly involved in the organisation of the Opening Mass and also unveil a plaque with the names of Parish Priests and curates who served in the Parish. This will be followed by a reception in the Parish Centre. Photos capturing a flavour of Sutton parish life over the last 40 years will be on display. All are welcome to attend this event. |
