THIRD SUNDAY OF EASTER                                                                                 (15/13)

“You shall be my Witnesses…”  Parish Preparation for Confirmation Programme

This week the first of five of the young peoples’ sessions of the above Parish Preparation for Confirmation programme takes place.  It will be held in Scoil Mhuire on Tuesday 16th April at 7.30pm.  The young people are divided into four groups and two adult volunteers lead each group.  The leaders are, Ann Ffrench, Ian Sheridan, Daire Jameson, Susan Sheridan, Martina Fennelly and Loretto Linehan, all parents of the young people who will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation and Margaret Rickard, Betty Sewell, Warrick Sewell, parishioners.  They have all undergone an Archdiocesan training programme and we wish them all well as they prepare for the sessions.  The first session deals with the Theme of Belonging.  Together the leaders and young people explore what it means to belong to the Church.  A question for each of us – How do I belong to my Church?

Valerie Darby, Margaret Rickard and Kay Burke, Coordinators

CATHOLICISM – WHAT CATHOLICS BELIEVE and WHY?

Catholicism is a groundbreaking Documentary Film Series, which illustrates the truth, goodness and beauty of the Catholic faith.  With host Fr. Robert Barron of the Word on Fire ministries you will learn what Catholics believe and why, while being immersed in the art, architecture, literature, beliefs, and practices of the Catholic tradition.  Episode 7 of the programme “The Mystery of the Church’s Sacrament and Worship”- will be shown this Friday, 19th April at 11am  in Sutton Parish Centre.  After the screening we will have the opportunity to share and discuss some of the issues raised.  For more information please contact either Fr. Liam Lacey or James Daly, Sutton Parish Office, 01 839 2001.
