Passion (Palm) Sunday                (15/14)

 

SUNDAYS IN LENT

There will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament this afternoon, (Sunday) from 4.00 to 5.00 p.m.   Sung Evening Prayer and Benediction will follow at 5 o’clock.  All welcome.

 

ADVOCATE COLLECTION

The Sunshine Fund of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul is holding its Annual Collection this weekend after all the Masses.  Please be as generous as you can – all funds raised will be used to provide much needed holidays for deserving children.  The Sunshine Fund is a special works conference of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society.

 

RECONCILIATION SERVICE
WITH INDIVIDUAL CONFESSION IN PREPARATION FOR EASTER
This Prayer Service will take place on Tuesday, 15th April at 8.00pm in the Church.  The Service will be conducted by Father Piaras Jackson, SJ.  There will be a number of visiting Confessors.
Confessions during Holy Week
Thursday 17th April 10.30 – 11.30am.  Friday 18th April 4.30 – 5.30pm
Saturday 19th April 10.30 – 11.30am.  4.00 – 5.00pm

 

EASTER INVITATION 

Howth Parish Pastoral Council would like to invite all our parishioners and visitors (children especially welcome) to St. Columbanus Hall (Main Street) for a social gathering with light refreshments immediately following 12 o’clock Mass on Easter Sunday.  All are welcome.

 

HOLY COMMUNION FOR THE SICK AND HOUSEBOUND ON HOLY THURSDAY EVENING AND EASTER SUNDAY MORNING

Parish Ministers of the Eucharist will be bringing Holy Communion to the Sick and Housebound on Holy Thursday Evening after the EVENING MASS OF THE LORD’S SUPPER (9.00pm approx.) and after the 10.30a.m. Mass on Easter Sunday morning.  Parishioners who may have relatives or friends who cannot get to the Church are invited to leave names and contact telephone numbers in the Sacristy.  The Ministers of the Eucharist will be happy to bring them Holy Communion on Holy Thursday evening after the Mass of the Lord’s Supper (9.00pm) and after the 10.30am Mass on Easter Sunday morning.

 

Veil Play: A Stage play taking place over three nights this week from 14th to 16th April in churches in Clontarf (St. John's, 8pm Mon. 14th April). St. Anthony's 8pm Tues 15th April and Drumcondra (All Hallows 8pm Weds 16th April.).  Veil is written by Sean Walsh - a former head of radio drama in RTE.  An Easter Play based on the Legend of Veronica.  Admission is free (donations optional) and no advance booking is required.  Full details of this unique production including a promo video can be seen on  www.clontarf.ie/veil

GOOD FRIDAY STATIONS OF THE CROSS

The Childrens’ Stations of the Cross will be presented here in the Church of the Assumption by the children of Howth Primary School at 12 noon on Good Friday, 18th April.

 

Mindfulness Meditation

Mindfulness Meditation continues in St. Columbanus Hall Monday 14th April at 7.30 p.m. with Joe Clarke.  All are welcome. 

Mindfulness Meditation with Joe Clarke will take place in the Parish Hall (St. Columbanus) on Tuesdays 15th and 29th April from 11.00am to 12 noon.  Please note that Meditation will not take place in Stella Maris Retreat Centre on these dates.

 

CEMETERY MASS

SAINT FINTAN’S - SUTTON

The Blessing of the Graves and Mass will take place in Saint Fintan’s Cemetery, Sutton, on Sunday 8th June at 3.00 p.m.
