HOWTH CHAMBER MUSIC
A violin Project has been launched in Scoil Mhuire, Howth’s Primary School. 35 violins have been purchased which have allowed 150 children from Junior Infants, Senior Infants and First Class to learn violin during school hours. It is modelled on the project launched by Sr. Bernadette in Crumlin. The objective is to be able to extend this project to all local schools as well as to adults in the local community. The organising committee aim to do this through fundraising from concerts and other events. On Saturday 18th May, a concert will take place in the Church at 8.30 p.m. The programme will include Mozart, Mendelssohn and Schumann. Performers on the evening will include Mia Cooper (Violin), Philippe Graffin (Violin), Ruth Gibson (Viola), Amy Norrington (Cello) and Alasdair Beatson (Piano). This Chamber Group will also perform in Howth Castle on 16th May (Sold Out) and on Friday 17th May in Saint Mary’s Church of Ireland, Deerpark. Tickets - €15 are available to buy from Finola Young (Centra), or reserve tickets by telephone 089-403 1292 or e-mail howthchambermusic@gmail.com
