HOWTH PARISH REFORM AND RENEWAL GROUP

‘In Search of a New Model of Church’

Monday 20th January  8.00 pm  St. Columbanus Hall

As Pope Francis and his advisors consult with the worldwide Church on family issues in preparation for the October 2014 Synod there is an atmosphere of hope and expectation about the future.  If a ‘New Model of Church’ emerges in the future what should that model look like?  What aspects of the current model of church must be changed to facilitate the emergence of a new, more inclusive model?  What role can the laity play at parish, diocesan, and wider levels in any new model of Church?  What model of Church might offer hope to those alienated and marginalised?  The evening will combine a number of personal reflections on these issues followed by an open discussion.  The agenda covers a very wide range of issues and it is, therefore, intended to deal with the issues over the course of a number of meetings.   ALL WELCOME

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION IN HOWTH
The Eucharistic Adoration Group would warmly welcome new comers to adoration including those who wish to give it a try without commitment.  It involves spending an hour a week in silent prayer (in whatever form of devotion including spiritual reading that you choose) before the Blessed Sacrament exposed on the side Altar of the Sacred Heart of Jesus during one of the scheduled hours of exposition on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays.  On Tuesdays the scheduled hours of exposition begin at 11:00; 12:00; 13:00; 14:00; 15:00 and 16:00.  On Wednesdays they begin at 11:00; 12:00; 13:00; (none at 14:00); 15:00; 16:00 and 19:00.  On Thursdays there is just one hour that begins at 11:00.  For more information contact Owen at 832 5574 or John at 832 4429 or 086-810 5412.
