St. Columbanus Hall, Howth, 8.00pm Monday 19th October

The Fourteenth Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops: What Does it Involve and its Significance in the Life of the Church?

Áilín Doyle, formerly a Senior Lecturer in Moral Theology in The Milltown Institute of Theology and Philosophy and more recently an adjunct lecturer in The Loyola Institute, Trinity College, will speak on the Synod in Rome.  All are Welcome.

You will be aware of the work carried out by the Society.  They urgently require collectors to help with their out-door collections which take place outside the church, monthly, after each Mass.  Three collectors are required for each Mass and the time involved is less than 15 minutes per Mass.  For further details, please contact Barbara in the Parish Office and a member of the local Conference will be in touch with you.

The Parish is seeking a volunteer to help with the laundering of Parish Altar Linen.  If you think you can spare about two hours per month, please contact Barbara in the Parish Office Tel. 839 7398.   The Parish Clergy, Fr. Gerry Tanham and Canon Ray Molony thank all volunteers in the parish who give so generously of their time - the volunteer cleaners, collectors, florists, choirs, all involved in Parish Ministries and Pastoral Programmes, and all who work quietly behind the scenes.  Your time and input is very greatly appreciated.  Help is always needed, on an on-going basis in the parish.  If you think you can spare the time to become involved, in any of the above roles, please contact the Parish Office.

The local Conference of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society will hold their monthly collection to-day after all the Masses.

The Annual Mass for all those buried in the two Cemeteries in the Parish – Saint Mary’s and Old Abbey – will take place on Sunday 1st November in the Church at 3 o’clock.  The Blessing of the Graves in both Cemeteries will take place immediately after the Mass.
