Sunday 11th January 2015 The Baptism of the Lord (02/15) THE PALESTRINA CHOIR The Palestrina Choir, St.Mary’s Pro-Cathedral Dublin, will be performing a Concert in St.Fintans Church, Greenfield Road, Sutton at 8.00pm on Saturday 7th February as part of their Spring Concert Series, to raise funds to support their tour to Carnegie Hall New York and Washington DC. It will be a guaranteed evening of beautiful Sacred Music including the Panis Angelicus, Ave Verum Corpus and Oh Sacrament Most Holy. Christopher O’Shea from Sutton is Head Chorister of ThePalestrina Choir. Tickets €15, will be available from Monday 19th January and can be purchased from St. Fintan’s Parish Shop, 9.30am to 12.30pm, Monday to Friday. Grief Support Group: The Irish Hospice Foundation and the Bereavement Counselling Service will be running a Grief Support Group. An information evening - involving no obligation - will be held on Wednesday, 14 January in the Community Centre in Baldoyle from 7.30 – 8.30pm to explain what the support group will involve and how it might be of help to you. WEEK OF PRAYER FOR CHRISTIAN UNITY The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity will be observed from 18th – 25th January 2015. Its inauguration in Dublin will take place at an interdenominational service in St Bartholomew’s Anglican Church, Clyde Road, Dublin 4 on Sunday 18th January at 3.00pm. Fr Damian McNeice, Chairperson of the Dublin Council of Churches, will preach the sermon. This year’s theme, “Give me to drink”(John 4:7) was chosen by the Christian communities in Brazil. Talk on Pope Francis: Gardiner Street parish, Monday 19th January at 7.30pm to listen to Fr. Michael Paul Gallagher, SJ discuss the topic of “Wake up the World”– The hopes of Pope Francis – with a focus on the year of Consecrated life in St Francis Xavier’s Church, Gardiner Street, Dublin 1.
