Third Sunday of Lent                                                                            (10/12)

 

NOVENA OF GRACE

The Novena of Grace continues at the 12 noon Mass to-day and concludes tomorrow evening, (Monday 12th March) at the 8.00 p.m. Mass.  The Novena is being conducted by FATHER WILLIAM REYNOLDS, S.J.

 

SUNDAYS OF LENT   EXPOSITION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT

There will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament this afternoon from 4.00 to 5.00 p.m.

Sung Evening Prayer and Benediction will follow at 5 o’clock.  All welcome.

 

POST CONFIRMATION PROGRAMME

All young people in the parish who were Confirmed in 2010 or 2011 are invited to the third meeting of this group in St. Columbanus Hall on Monday 12th March from 7.30-8.30 pm.  Two young people from the parish will share with the group their personal experiences of charity work in India and Kenya.  This will be of interest to our First and Second years as they continue to use the Gifts of the Holy Spirit to help make our world a better place.  Contact Kay Burke 0879749005 or Barbara Tel. 839 7398 for more information.

 

MASSES – SAINT PATRICK’S DAY

Saturday 17th March is Saint Patrick’s Day and a Holy Day of Obligation

Vigil Mass on Friday evening at 7 o’clock.  Morning Mass on Saint Patrick’s Day - 8.30 10.30 (Family Mass) and 12.00 noon. There will also be an Evening Mass at 7 o’clock.

 

RECONCILIATION SERVICE

WITH INDIVIDUAL CONFESSION IN PREPARATION FOR EASTER

This Prayer Service will take place on Tuesday, 3rd April at 8.00 p.m. in the Church.  The Service will be conducted by Father Martin Nolan, OSA.  There will be a number of visiting Confessors.

 

CEMETERY MASS   -   SAINT FINTAN’S - SUTTON

The Blessing of the Graves and Mass will take place in Saint Fintan’s Cemetery, Sutton, on Sunday 27th  May at 3.00 p.m.

 

'TOWARDS AN ASSEMBLY OF THE IRISH CATHOLIC CHURCH'

The Regency Hotel: Monday, 7th May 2012  - 10.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. (Under the auspices of the Association of Catholic Priests)  First Session: Naming the Reality. There will be four lay/clerical speakers giving short input, followed by a general forum.  Tea/Coffee Break

Second Session: The Vision. Three lay/clerical speakers outlining their vision for the Church followed by general forum.  Lunch Break.

A DATE FOR YOUR DIARY

The morning of Saturday, 31st March has been set aside for the Easter 'Clean Up' of our magnificent Church.  We plan to start working after 10 o'clock Mass until 11 at which time we shall have a tea, coffee and biscuit break and then continue on until 1 o'clock.  Please do set some time aside on the 31st to meet and work with fellow parishioners, give half an hour or an hour it will make a difference.

 

TROCAIRE BOXES FOR LENT

The Lenten TROCAIRE BOXES are available in the Church.  You are invited to take one.  These boxes are only for homes that have not received boxes through the schools.

 

HOWTH PARISH PILGRIMAGE TO LOURDES
