Nineteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time                                     (32/13)



Thursday 15th August is the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and a Holyday of Obligation.  The Vigil Mass of the Feast will take place on Wednesday evening (14th August) at 7 o’clock.  Masses on Thursday morning at 8.00; 10.30 and 12 noon.  Mass on Thursday evening at 7 o’clock. 


L'Arche is an international organization that supports adults with intellectual disabilities and is dedicated to providing family sized communities in which people with intellectual disabilities and their volunteer assistants share their lives. (  To-day - Sunday 11th August at 12 noon, L'Arche and "The Baldoyle House" pub, will host a Sponsored Stroll to Howth (and back) to raise money to purchase a new wheelchair accessible van for the community.  For more details please contact  089 497 8101 or Patsi at the L'Arche Dublin Office 839 4356.



This year’s Howth Parish Pilgrimage to Knock has now been arranged for SUNDAY 1st  SEPTEMBER.   Cost - €50 - which includes Coach, Lunch (Tea/Coffee/Sandwiches) and Evening Dinner at the Abbey Hotel, Roscommon.  Bookings may be made in the Parish Office/Sacristy weekday mornings.

The School re-opens on THURSDAY, 29th August from 8.50 a.m. until 12.15 p.m. for all classes from Senior Infants to 6th Class.  The School re-opens on THURSDAY, 29th August from 10.00 a.m. until 12 noon for new Junior Infants.



Friends of Balscadden Bay (“Fobb”) invite you to their Annual Community “Summer Swim and Barbeque on the beach” at Balscadden Bay, Howth on Sunday 25th August 1.00pm to 4.00pm.   Lifeguard will be in attendance.  Bring your own food or Burgers, Hot-Dogs and Soft Drinks will be on sale.  All welcome.



The Legion of Mary is hosting a two day conference in All Hallows College, Gracepark Road, Drumcondra, Dublin 9 on the 31st August/1st September.  Guest speakers will include Papal Nuncio, The Most Rev Charles John Brown, Fr John Harris and Fr Pat Deegan.  Fees are €40 for non-residential and €55 for residential.  For more details contact Liam 086-888 8918

Youth 2000 Summer Festival, Cistercian College, Roscrea, Co. Tipperary from Thursday 15th – Sunday 18th August 2013.  For young people aged 16-35, an opportunity not to be missed to experience the Catholic faith and meet many new people.  This festival has been nicknamed the “Holy Oxygen” with over 1000 young people from all corners of Ireland attending last year.  The festival is donation only.
