WEEK OF PRAYER FOR CHRISTIAN UNITY The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity will be observed from 18th – 25th January 2016. Its inauguration in Dublin will take place at an interdenominational service in St Paul’s Church, Arran Quay, Dublin 7 on Monday 18th January at 8.00pm. The Very Rev. Dr. Kenneth Newell OBE will preach the sermon. This year’s theme, “Salt of the Earth”(1 Peter 2:9-11) was chosen by the Christian communities in Latvia. The theme highlights the relationship between baptism and proclamation, and the calling shared by all the baptised ‘to proclaim the mighty acts of the Lord’. The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is a privileged moment of prayer, encounter and dialogue. It is an opportunity to recognise and receive the richness and value that are present in the other, the different, and to ask God for the gift of unity. CHRISTIAN MEDITATION Christian Meditation will continue in the Parish Hall - St. Columbanus - on Thursday 14th January at 11.00am. Cost: None - and all are very welcome to attend.
