Sixth Sunday of Easter (18/15)


The Annual Mass and Anointing of the Sick will take place to-day  -  Sunday, 10th May at 3.30pm in the Church


Congratulations to the Girls and Boys of Second Class - Scoil Mhuire – Howth Primary School, who received their First Holy Communion in the Church yesterday.  A special Thank you to the children’s Teachers – Ms. Gleeson and Ms. Donegan.


The Sacrament of Confirmation will be administered to the pupils of 6th Class, Howth Primary School - Scoil Mhuire, on Friday 22nd May at 1.00 p.m. in the Church.  We remember them in our prayers.

The Parish Pastoral Council will meet with Parish Based Groups with a view to increasing membership of the Council and to identify ways forward for the good of the Parish.  Invitations are being issued to the representatives of each Group.  The meeting will take place on Tuesday 26th May at 8.15pm in the Parish Hall (St. Columbanus)

ENCHIRIADIS TREIS CHOIR, together with St George's Singers, Belfast, will perform Beethoven's Mass in C Major in St Anne's Church, Portmarnock on Saturday, 23rd May at 8.00pm  Tickets €15. For bookings contact: 085 8498442



This year is the 1400th anniversary of the death of St. Columban.  His tomb is in the crypt of the basilica dedicated to his name in the town of Bobbio situated in the foothills of the Apennines south of Milan.  The proposal is to stay in the hilltop town of Bergamo, take an excursion to Sotto il Monte the birthplace Pope St. John XXIII, sightsee and shop in Milan taking in the magnificent Cathedral, La Scala Opera House, Leonardo Da Vinci’s Last Supper and then go for a relaxing day and night in Bobbio.  Cost: €895.00 per person sharing. Mindfulness Meditation

Mindfulness Meditation will not take place Monday 11th May.  Meditation will resume in St. Columbanus Hall Monday 18th May at 7.30 p.m. with Joe Clarke.  Meditation will not take place on Tuesday 12th May.  Meditation will resume on Tuesday 19th May from 11.00am to 12 noon.  All welcome.


The Coolmine Therapeutic Community will hold a fund-raising Church Gate Collection after all the Masses this week-end.  Coolmine TC provides a rehabilitation service for clients in recovery from alcohol and drug addiction.

The Red Rock Art group will host an Exhibition and Sale of paintings on Sat and Sunday 16th and 17th May in the Old Courthouse, Howth from 12noon to 5.00pm.  Proceeds will go to the St. Francis Hospice, Raheny.  PREVIEW Friday 15th May from 8.00pm in the Old Courthouse.  All are welcome.
