Third Sunday of Easter  (15/16)

ANNUAL COLLECTION FOR FORMATION OF STUDENTS FOR PRIESTHOOD  Next Sunday – 16th/17th April, SPECIAL COLLECTION TO SUPPORT THE FORMATION OF STUDENTS FOR THE PRIESTHOOD.  This is an opportunity for us all to reflect on our Baptismal calling to live a life of grace and holiness and to pray for and foster vocations to the priesthood and religious life.  This collection will replace the SHARE collection.  Thank you for your generosity to this collection in previous years.


The local Conference of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society will hold their monthly collection to-day – after all the Masses.


You are warmly invited to a Parish Assembly on Tuesday evening, 19th April 2016 from 7.30pm to 9.00pm.  The Assembly will reflect on the future development of the parish and plan our pastoral priorities in the year ahead.  The Assembly will take place in the church and all parishioners are welcome.  If there are any particular issues you would like discussed, please submit in writing and leave into the Parish Office/Sacristy.  Come along to your Parish Assembly and have your voice heard - Being there, you can make a difference!  The Assembly will be facilitated by Ms. Eilis Monaghan.


The latest Roster for Ministers of the Word is now posted on the Church Notice Board.  Rosters have also been e-mailed to all our Readers.  Those Readers who do not have an e-mail address may collect a copy of the Roster from the Parish Office.  Many thanks to all our Ministers of the Word for their continued commitment and dedication to this special Ministry.


Howth Parish Bible Study Group continues on Friday 15th April.  St. Columbanus Hall - 10.45am.  All are welcome.


Grateful thanks to all who took part in the Trócaire Lenten Campaign.  Please return your Trócaire boxes to the Sacristy.


Could you spare an hour and half, one morning a month either on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday to help deliver meals to the elderly?

Mindfulness Meditation with Joe Clarke

Meditation continues in St. Columbanus Hall tomorrow evening, Monday 11th April at 7.30pm.

Meditation will also take place on Tuesday morning 12th April from 11.00am in St. Columbanus Hall.  No booking required – all are welcome.

St Mary’s Church of Ireland, Deerpark, Howth

St. Mary's Church of Ireland is celebrating its 200th Anniversary this year and to mark the occasion they have produced a history of the parish to be launched on Friday 15th April in their Parish Centre at 8pm.  The evening will begin with a complementary glass of wine and refreshments and the book will be officially launched by Cecil Hyland.  This very attractive volume will give insights not only into the history of the church at St Mary’s but also into the people that have made the Parish what it is down through the years.  Copies €10 will be available on the night.


Beann Eadair G.A.A. Club will host a RACE NIGHT on Saturday 16th April at 8.00pm in the Club House.  Please support this event by buying a Race Horse for the night at a cost of €10.  All proceeds will go towards the running of the Juvenile Section.  Lots of cash prizes  -  all welcome.

Howth and Sutton Horticultural Society present their Annual Spring Show at St Nessan’s Community School, Baldoyle.  Exhibits, Plant sale, Book sale, Tea/Coffee & Homemade Cakes  -  Saturday 16th April 2.30 - 4.30pm.  All welcome.  Contact Ann 01-839 4578


From 24th April, the parish will present the Newsletter in a new and improved format.  The Newsletter will be in colour with enhanced print quality and improved content.  Those contributing items for inclusion in the Parish Newsletter are asked to submit their notice in writing by 12noon on the Tuesday prior to that weekend’s Bulletin. Notices via e-mail would be appreciated.
