Thirty Second Sunday in Ordinary Time                                            (43/11)

The Annual Mass for all those buried in the two Cemeteries in the Parish - Saint Mary’s and Old Abbey – will take place to-day – Sunday, 6th November in the Church at 3 o’clock.  The Blessing of the Graves in both Cemeteries will take place immediately after the Mass.

Fingal County Council has closed the Old Abbey Cemetery as a safety precaution due to the collapse of part of the Cemetery wall.  The Cemetery will remain closed until further notice.

It has been agreed to allow the Blessing of Graves to take place, however, part of the Cemetery will be inaccessible during the Blessing for safety reasons.  Council staff will facilitate families who wish to have flowers placed in the inaccessible part of the Cemetery from 10.00 a.m. onwards.

It would be greatly appreciated if participants would respect these temporary but necessary restrictions that the Council has had to put in place

The Annual Collection for CATHOLIC YOUTH CARE (the Diocesan Youth Service) will be made at all the Masses next week-end (12th and 13th November)  This collection will replace the usual SHARE collection.

Catholic Youth Care supports and services youth work and youth ministry throughout the Dublin Diocese.  Through their various services and programmes to young people and youth groups, they reach out to many of the most marginalised young people in the Archdiocese.

The Faith Development Group of the Parish Pastoral Council has arranged the following series of talks for each Monday in November.

Monday, Nov.  7th :    Fr. Peter McVerry S.J.  Title: “The Gospel: Good news to homeless people”.

Monday, Nov. 14th.    Ms Alice Leahy of TRUST. Title: “The Outsider”.

Title: “Companions on the journey”.   All presentations, with discussion and debate will take place in St. Columbanus Hall (The old schoolhouse in front of the Catholic Church in Howth).  They will begin at 8.00. p.m. and end with a cup of tea at 9.15 p.m.

Please remember in your prayers CHRISTINE GAISFORD SAINT LAWRENCE who died during the week.  We offer our sympathy to her husband and family.  We also pray for ELLEN DALY who has died.   Our sympathy to her family.   May they rest in peace.
