Fourteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time (26/14)


Matt Talbot Sunday is the day on which we pray for all who suffer because of addiction of any kind.  This year’s Annual Matt Talbot Mass will take place this afternoon, Sunday, 6th July at 3pm in Christ the King Church Cabra, Dublin 7.  The Celebrant will be Bishop Eamonn Walsh.  All are welcome.

The Society of Saint Vincent De Paul is seeking your help in its Annual Clothing Appeal.  The appeal is for clean, good-quality clothes, bed-clothes, curtains and shoes.  Bags will be distributed on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th July 2014.  The collection of the bags will take place on Sunday 3rd August DURING THE MORNING MASSES ONLY.  The Society is conscious of the tremendous support given by the Parishioners of this Parish over the years and thank you most sincerely on behalf of those you have helped.

Synod of bishops – The pastoral challenges of the family in the context of evangelisation The Vatican has published the results of the consultation it had requested bishops to make in preparation for the synod to be held in Rome on 5th October.  A group of 150 bishops will meet to discuss the pastoral challenges of the family in the context of evangelisation.  Link to the full text below

Pilgrimage to the Holy Land - Monday 8 - Tuesday 16 September (St Brigid's Parish, Killester)  This 9 day pilgrimage takes in all the major sites - Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Nazareth, Cana, Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea.  In addition to a local guide, Monsignor Stenson who is accompanying the pilgrimage will celebrate Mass each day at one of the sacred shrines.  Full details are available from the Parish Office in Killester - Cathy (01) 833 2974
