First Holy Communion 2011
Mass of Preparation Sunday 13th February 10.30 a.m.
Next Sunday, 13th February, the children of Howth Parish continue their special journey of preparation for their First Holy Communion.  Next Sunday’s Mass will be the third Mass in the series and the children will focus particularly on the “Sorry Prayers” of the Mass.  Please come to support the children of the Parish and join with them to sing and pray together.

It is with regret that the Parish Council accepts the resignation of Mr Joe Stewart as 'webmaster' for the Howth Parish Website.  Joe has given invaluable service to the Parish in many ways but particularly with the website over the past three and a half years.  We wish to express our deepest thanks to him, for his dedication to the task, his expertise, generosity with his time and his unstoppable energy and enthusiasm for all things 'Parish'.  We acknowledge and respect his decision to move on to other areas and wish him well in his endeavours.

The Council will host an Information and Awareness evening on the issue of Suicide, Suicide Bereavement and Suicide prevention.  The date will be Monday 21st March.  Further details later.

We take this opportunity to affirm the good work of the many voluntary groups in the Parish and to say 'thank you’- you make a real difference.
Signed:  Sr. Phyllis Behan (Chairperson)     Brendan Houlihan P.P. (President)

Damian McNeice, Colette Furlong, Marie Kelly, Helen Norton and Fr. Kieran O’Mahony ensured that over 90 people had a rich and insightful Course.  By way of follow-up there will be a further Course during Lent – on four Mondays, 14th 21st and 28th March and 4th April at 8.00 p.m. in Clonliffe College.  Topics covered will include The Readings of the Easter Triduum and The Gospel of Saint Matthew.  If you would like to attend, please leave your name and contact telephone number into the Sacristy/Parish Office.  Enquiries Telephone 808 7554 or e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

Annual World Day of Prayer for the Sick
Next Friday, 11th February (Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes) is the World Day of Prayer for the Sick.  People around the globe will be praying especially for the sick and their carers on that day.  We will be remembering all our own sick and caregivers at all Masses next weekend.  From today you can write the name of a loved one who is sick or caring for a sick person on the name cards on the altar step.  Place these names into the basket provided and they will be presented at the altar for all Masses next weekend.  There is a specially designed prayer card for you to take and keep or to give to a friend.
