TRÓCAIRE EMERGENCY APPEAL

FOR THE PEOPLE OF SOMALIA, KENYA AND ETHIOPIA

Thank you for the very generous response to last Sunday’s collection, which replaced the SHARE collection.  The amount collected was €7,445.00   This has been forwarded to TRÓCAIRE.

 

BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY  1st AUGUST

There will be one Mass in the Church at 11.00 a.m. followed by Miraculous Medal Novena Prayers.

 

FRIDAY 5th August

First Friday of the Month

Morning Masses at 8.00 and 10.00.  Evening Mass at 8 o’clock.  All the Masses on the first Friday of the month are offered for those whose names are on the Parish Altar List of the Dead.

 

GRAMPIAN CONCERT ORCHESTRA

On Sunday evening, 7th August, the Grampian Concert Orchestra from Aberdeen, will present an evening of classical music in the Church at 8 o’clock. All are welcome to attend this concert.  Admission is free and refreshments will be served after the performance.

 

VOLUNTEERS TO LOOK AFTER OUR CHURCH

We are asking for volunteers to help us maintain the beautiful building that has been
passed on to us. It is important that we have our Church looking well for Masses, 
Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals.
If you are interested in helping out, you will be very welcome.  You can contact any of 
the priests of the parish.  Telephone the Sacristy/ Parish Office   Tel. 839 7398.

 

HOWTH PARISH PILGRIMAGE TO KNOCK

The Howth Parish Pilgrimage to Knock will take place on SUNDAY 11th SEPTEMBER.   Cost - €50 - which includes return Coach, Lunch (Soup, Sandwich, Tea or Coffee) and Evening Dinner at the Abbey Hotel, Roscommon.  Booking forms are available at the Parish Office/Sacristy after Sunday Masses and weekday mornings.

RECENT BAPTISMS

The parish community warmly welcomes Beth Ita Edwards, Rachel Emma Turner,  Amy Jane Howard, Holly Teresa Elmes and Seán Erin Elmes who were baptised recently in our Church.  Congratulations and every joy to their proud Parents, Grand parents, God parents and their extended families.

 

SOCIETY OF SAINT VINCENT de PAUL - Annual Clothing Appeal

The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul is seeking your help in its Annual Clothing Appeal.  The appeal is for clean, good-quality clothes, bed-clothes, curtains and shoes.  Bags will be distributed on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th August 2011.  The collection of the bags will take place on Sunday 14th August DURING THE MORNING MASSES ONLY.  The Society is conscious of the tremendous support given by the Parishioners of this Parish over the years and thank you most sincerely on behalf of those you have helped.

FATIMA DEVOTIONS IN OUR CHURCH

The First Saturday Prayers which are said in our Church each month are based on the Message of Fatima.  They are said on the first Saturday of each month after the 11.00 a.m. Mass and conclude before mid-day.  The prayers are part of the First Saturday Devotions of Reparation which include receiving Holy Communion and going to Confession.  The next Prayer Meeting will be on Saturday 6th August and all are welcome to attend.
