To celebrate Mother's day, in conjunction with the fifth Mass of preparation for our Holy Communion children, we invite all the children (and adults too!) to bring a photo of their Mum to Mass next Sunday.  These special photos will be used to create a photographic montage which will be placed at the foot of the altar at the beginning of Mass.  So come early and have your Mum included!  All mothers will be included in the prayers in a very special way next Sunday

You shall be my Witnesses…”  Parish Preparation for Confirmation programme
The young people are now half way through their parish based preparation for Confirmation Programme.  The third session takes place tomorrow evening, Monday, 28th March in Scoil Mhuire at 7.30 p.m.  They are also working hard in school with their teacher Ms Audrey Clarke in preparation for the important day.  At this session they explore the question - How can I be a Christian?  They look at how the gifts of the Holy Spirit will help them in the challenging task.  How often are we aware of the Gifts of the Spirit as we go about the daily business of being as good as we can be?   Which of the gifts – Wisdom, Understanding, Right Judgement, Courage, Knowledge, Reverence, Wonder and Awe in God’s Presence – do we unwrap every day or sometimes do we just leave them in their packages unopened?  Which gift can we unwrap this day?

SUICIDE AWARENESS - a community response.
Last Monday we had an excellent evening's presentation on the topic of suicide awareness.  Thanks to Deirdre Staveley, a counsellor /psychotherapist from Howth, to Colette Lynskey, counselling co-ordinator from Console, and to Jamie Blandford from Howth Coastguard for a very informative, insightful and compassionate presentation of this rather tragic subject.
Helpful leaflets/telephone numbers are now in the Church and the Parish office should anyone wish to seek further help.
The Parish Pastoral Council wishes to say 'thank you' to all who helped to promote this event, and to all who helped on the night itself.                                  Phyllis Behan r.s.c.
