FOURTH SUNDAY OF ADVENT                                                                           (51/12)

Fourth Sunday of Advent

There will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament from 3.00 to 4.00 p.m. to-day followed by Evening Prayer and Benediction.

 

CONFESSIONS IN HOWTH PARISH

Monday 24th Dec. 10.30 to 11.00 a.m., 11.30 a.m. to1.00 p.m. and 3.30 to 5.00 p.m.

 

Nativity Pageant

The children of the Parish will present a Nativity Pageant on Christmas Eve in the Church.  The Pageant, under the direction of Pat Guinan and the Family Mass Group, will be presented during the 7.00 p.m. Mass on Monday 24th December.

 

CHRISTMAS MASSES

Vigil Mass on Christmas Eve with Children’s Nativity Pageant at 7.00 p.m.

 

Midnight Mass at 12 o’clock

Masses on Christmas morning at 8.30, 10.30 (Family Mass), and 12.00 noon

No evening Mass on Christmas Day

Wednesday 26th to Saturday 29th December  One Mass in the Church at 11.00 a.m.

 

HOLY COMMUNION FOR THE HOUSEBOUND ON CHRISTMAS MORNING

Our Special Ministers of the Eucharist will be bringing Holy Communion to those who are ill on Christmas morning after the 10.30 Family Mass.  Anybody with a relative or friend staying with them for Christmas and if that person cannot get to the Church, please let us know by contacting the Church Sacristy/Parish Office.  (Tel. 839 7398)  A Minister of the Eucharist will be happy to bring Holy Communion to the sick person.

 

World Day of Peace
The World Day of Peace 2013 will be celebrated in the Dublin Diocese at a special Mass in the Church of St. Therese, Mount Merrion on Tuesday 1st January at 11.00 a.m.  The theme chosen by the Holy Father this year is “Blessed are the peacemakers”.

 

ANNUAL CHURCH UNITY WEEK     18th to 25th January 2013

Inauguration in Dublin will take place at an Interdenominational Service in the Church of Saint Thomas, Indian Orthodox Church, Cathal Brugha Street, Dublin 1 on Friday 18th January 2013 at 8.00 p.m.  The theme, “What does God require of us” was chosen by the Christian Communities in India.

 

OUR DEAD

Please remember in your prayers JOE MAXWELL who died last week.  We offer our sympathy to his wife and family.  We also pray for MICHAEL STAPLETON who has died.  We offer our sympathy to his family.  Your prayers are also asked for FLORENCE NEALON who died on Thursday.  We offer our sympathy to her family.  May they rest in peace.

A MESSAGE FROM PROSPER FINGAL

Prosper Fingal would like to thank all those who have supported the set-up of their new service in Howth this year.  It is greatly appreciated.  Prosper Fingal provides supports and service to adults with intellectual disabilities in North County Dublin.  Located at 1 Emo House, Main Street, Howth, the service covers the Howth, Sutton and Baldoyle area and aims to link those we support with their own local community.

 
THE FAT-TURKEY WALK
The Annual walk in aid of Suttonians R.F.C and the I.R.F.U Charitable Trust for seriously injured players takes place on Saturday 29th December (11.00 a.m.) from Suttonians R.F.C around the Hill of Howth.  Registration from 9.30 a.m. at Suttonians Club House.
 
 

The Howth Community Drama Group presents 'ANNIE – The Musical' from Tuesday 1st to Friday 4th January at 8.00 p.m. with a Matinee on Saturday 5th at 3.00p.m. in the School Hall, Howth Primary School.  Tickets €8 adult, €5 senior citizens and children, Family Ticket €20 - from Lua (Tel. 839 1538).  Please come, enjoy a great show and support your local community!
