FAMILY MASS CELEBRATION

To-day -  Sunday, the 10.30am Family Mass will be a special celebration of the family and all the children who have received Sacraments this year.  We look forward to welcoming everyone to this special Mass and refreshments afterwards in St. Columbanus Hall.


PETER’S PENCE COLLECTION

Next Sunday is the feast of Saints Peter and Paul.  A special collection for Pope Francis and the Papal charities will take place at all Masses next weekend, Sat 28th June/Sun 29th June.  This collection replaces the SHARE collection.


Pilgrimage to the Holy Land  - Monday 8 - Tuesday 16 September (St Brigid's Parish, Killester)  This 9 day pilgrimage takes in all the major sites - Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Nazareth, Cana, Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea.  In addition to a local guide, Monsignor Stenson who is accompanying the pilgrimage will celebrate Mass each day at one of the sacred shrines.  Full details are available from the Parish Office in Killester - Cathy (01) 833 2974

AN ASHRAM EXPERIENCE

29th June - 29th July

Korko Moses, a Jesuit priest from India, meditation teacher and yoga master, will lead the ashram experience.

Time for Meditation, Yoga (gentle stretches) and Spiritual direction.  A Time of Silence, Simplicity, Equanimity.  Residential €85 per day (includes meals),  Day attendees €55 per day (includes meals) 7.30am to 8.00pm – Limited places.

The first annual Evangelium Conference to be held in Ireland will take place from 4th to 6th July at St. Patrick's College Maynooth.

OUR DEAD

Please remember in your prayers, PATRICK ‘Paddy’ O’CONNOR who died on Friday.  We offer our sympathy to his wife Marie and all the family.  Funeral Mass will take place on Monday 23rd June at 11.00am and thereafter to St. Mary’s Cemetery.  May he rest in peace.

HOWTH PENINSULA HERITAGE SOCIETY

JUNE LECURE

On Tuesday 24th June at 8.00pm Ian Robertson will give a lecture in the Howth Angling Centre, West Pier, on “The Jameson Whiskey Family History”.  Admission to non-members of the Society is €5  All welcome.


YOUTH 2000 SUMMER FESTIVAL - Thursday 14th  July to Sunday 1st August

Cistercian College, Mount Saint Joseph Abbey, Roscrea, Co. Tipperary.  This is the biggest young Catholic event in Ireland and is not to be missed.  There will be free buses available from all around the country. More details shortly on www.youth2000.ie

St. VINCENT DE PAUL - ST.CLARE’S CONFERENCE

Volunteers required urgently: St.Clare’s Conference serves the Priorswood Area (Coolock)and are currently looking for new members to join the visiting teams in addition to one new member to act as Treasurer, as the current Treasurer is retiring at the end of this year- this position is a no-visiting role, ideally with some computer skills.  This is a pro-active Conference which hosts a special Learning for Life educational programme for children of the families they visit.  If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact:  Kay Burke – Tel. 087-974 9005
