Fifth Sunday of Easter          (21/11)

ANNUAL COLLECTION FOR FORMATION OF STUDENTS FOR PRIESTHOOD
To-day is Priesthood Sunday.  A special day in the Diocese when we reflect on the call to serve the Lord and his people through the ministry of priest.  Dublin needs more vocations to priesthood. 
The Annual collection for the formation of students for priesthood in the Diocese of Dublin is being held at all the Masses this week-end.  This collection will replace the SHARE collection.  Thank you for your generosity to this collection in previous years.

Sutton Floral Art Group will hold a Plant Sale in Saint Columbanus Hall to-day - Sunday (22nd May) from 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.  All welcome.

JUSTICE AND FAITH IN COMMUNITY
The Baldoyle Parish Encounter Group will host a talk on Justice and Faith in Community  by Fr. Peter McVerry, SJ, on Tuesday 24th May from 8.00 p.m. until 9.00 p.m.  Fr. Peter McVerry has been working with Dublin’s young homeless for more than 30 years.  During this time he has campaigned tirelessly for the rights of these young people.  The venue for the Talk is Pobal Scoil Neasain.

CONFIRMATION IN HOWTH
The Sacrament of Confirmation will be administered to the pupils of 6th Class, Howth Primary School - Scoil Mhuire, on Friday next, 27th May at 11.00 a.m. in the Church.  We remember them in our prayers.

ANNUAL MASS AND ANOINTING OF THE SICK
Next Sunday  -  29th May at 4.00 p.m.
This Mass is organised every year by the Parish Ministers of the Eucharist.  Transport to the Church can be arranged.  Please contact the parish office at Telephone 839 73 98 to make arrangements.


OUR DEAD
Please pray for GEORGINA ‘Flo’ FORMAN, late of Howth who died during the week.  Her funeral took place yesterday (Saturday 21st May) in Saint Patrick’s Church, Donabate and the body was interred in the Old Abbey Cemetery, Howth.  Our sympathy to her family.  May she rest in peace.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION 2011
Let’s Celebrate       Mass of Celebration Sunday 29th May -10.30 a.m.

Calling all the boys and girls from our parish who received their First Holy Communion this year.  You are invited to a special Mass of Celebration.  Please come to Mass in your very special Communion clothes.  We invite all parishioners to join us for this very special Mass.  We look forward to seeing all the Holy Communion children fully participate in the prayers and songs of the Mass.  During the Mass, all the Holy Communion children will receive a personal souvenir from the parish in recognition of their journey towards Holy Communion.  After Mass we look forward to sharing a “cuppa” and a chat al fresco-weather permitting of course !  A wonderful opportunity to take some treasured final photographs of the children in their Communion finery.  Looking forward to seeing you all there.


HOWTH PENINSULA HERITAGE SOCIETY – MAY LECTURE
On Tuesday next, 24th May at 8 p.m. Mícheál Ó Doibhilín, Author/Heritage Guide, will deliver a lecture in the Howth Sea-Angling Club, West Pier, on ‘Anne Devlin, the bravest of the brave’  Admission to non-members of the Society is €4.00.
