Twenty-Ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time     (41/10)

TAKING STEPS TO REDUCE THE RISK OF CANCER
To-day -  Sunday 17th October, at 2.00 p.m. the Deerpark Hotel and healthpro will host a cancer awareness walk starting from the Deerpark Hotel.  Duration approximately 2 hours finishing with refreshments at Deerpark Hotel.

OCTOBER – MONTH OF THE MISSIONS
Next Sunday marks the annual worldwide Catholic celebration of Mission Sunday. The theme for 2010 is Together in Mission.  Our prayers and donations on Mission Sunday help to support mission projects and allow Catholic communities worldwide to become self-sufficient and progress according to their own needs and traditions.  A special collection will be taken up next Sunday in aid of the Church’s mission activities.  This special collection will replace the usual SHARE collection.  Thank you for your kindness in previous years.

ANNUAL FORTY HOURS’ ADORATION
The annual period of Solemn Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament (FORTY HOURS’ ADORATION) will take place next week-end -  (October Bank Holiday) 24th/25th October.
The Exposition will begin after the 12 o’clock Mass on Sunday 24th October and will continue until just before the Sunday Evening Mass.  There will be Sung Evening Prayer on Sunday afternoon at 5 o’clock.
The Exposition will continue after the 11 o’clock Mass on Bank Holiday Monday and will conclude with a Eucharistic Prayer Service and Benediction at 5.00 p.m.

ANNUAL CEMETERY MASS
The Annual Mass for all those buried in the two Cemeteries in the Parish –
Saint Mary’s and Old Abbey – will take place on Sunday 7th November in the Church at 3 o’clock.  The Blessing of the Graves in both Cemeteries will take place immediately after the Mass.

OUR DEAD
Please remember in your prayers PATRICK ‘Paddy’  MARTIN who died during the week.  Funeral Mass tomorrow – Monday -  at 11.30 a.m.
We offer our sympathy to his family.
